Summer Commercial Painting Stats 2017
Tim Payne Painting has been doing business with the Housing Department at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for several years now. Summer time is the busiest for painting projects, because most students are off-campus enjoying their break. This summer, between the first week of May, and the second week of August, our painters did some impressive work!
- We used 5,480 gallons of paint! That amount of paint weighs 65,760 pounds! The weight is equivalent to two whole school buses!
- We covered 216,665 linear feet of walls, equaling 41 miles! That is 2 million square feet of walls! That would be like painting the White House 30 times!
- We cranked out 4,397 painted doors! If you lined the doors up side by side, they would stretch 4 miles long! That’s not including the frames!
- At any given time, we had enough drop cloths and vinyl, protecting floors, to reach about 2 miles! That would be equivalent to about 8.5 Empire State Buildings!
Investing in Expansion
As Tim Payne Painting continues to expand, we believe in investing in our growth. In order to achieve these goals, we have recently obtained a membership with the Associated General Contractors of America. Although, the services through AGC focus on the East Tennessee area, access to information from other areas is readily available.
The AGC provides daily updates on bids, 24/7 blueprint access, a large training facility, a variety of training courses, and a boardroom- equipped with projectors, and plenty of space. They host several networking events per year, that members like Tim Payne Painting can take advantage of, to make connections with other contractors in our area. The AGC is centrally located- downtown Chattanooga, making it quick and easy for us to access from local job sites.
We are excited to announce this new membership, as we can already see that it will be beneficial to multiple aspects of our company
We’re Painting UTC
Throughout the summer, Tim Payne Painting has been working on multiple projects across the state. Our largest project has been based here at home in Chattanooga. We have had painters at University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC) since May working on the Walker Apartments and UCF Apartments. Our painters have been swiftly and methodically knocking out room after room and floor after floor. Each
apartment includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and kitchen that are each being repainted from flat paint to a tougher semi-gloss paint. The trim in each apartment is being refreshed to its white color, and the doors from black to a more modern white. In addition to rooms, the crew has been painting some lobby areas and hallways to update them from a yellow color to a relaxing tan shade.
Our painters are a very dedicated and organized group. In order to achieve the best end result, our painters need to be very organized. The foreman on the job, Alex Payne, does a great job making sure each task gets done
well by assigning different people to different things on the job site. They’ve worked hard this summer and will continue to work hard until the job is finished.
At Tim Payne Painting we are dedicated, efficient and would love to help you with your next project. If you have any questions about something you are working on or need some help, don’t hesitate to call us. We look forward to working with you.
